Repiping for apartment, condo, senior living and hotel buildings, and plumbing for new multi-unit construction, in San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Fresno counties.

Multi-unit work in San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Fresno counties

Repipe Champions takes multi-unit projects in the Central Valley, including Stockton, Lodi, Tracy, Manteca, Modesto, Turlock, Fresno and Clovis. We repipe occupied apartment buildings, condominium and HOA communities, senior living communities and hotels and motels, and we install the plumbing in new multi-unit buildings for owners, developers and general contractors. We are a licensed California plumbing contractor, CSLB #1057926.

The Valley’s apartment stock, by the numbers

According to the US Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020-2024, here is how many housing units sit in buildings with five or more units, and what share of the occupied ones were built before 1980:

  • Fresno: 41,462 units (21.9 percent of the city’s housing); 49.3 percent built before 1980.
  • Stockton: 18,590 units (17.7 percent); 55.2 percent built before 1980.
  • Modesto: 9,888 units (13.1 percent); 45.7 percent built before 1980.
  • Clovis: 5,163 units (11.8 percent); 47.7 percent built before 1980.
  • Lodi: 4,623 units (18.6 percent); 49.5 percent built before 1980.
  • Turlock: 4,173 units (15.9 percent); 37.2 percent built before 1980.
  • Tracy: 3,076 units (10.2 percent); 28.0 percent built before 1980.
  • Manteca: 2,939 units (10.2 percent); 23.7 percent built before 1980.

In Stockton, Lodi, Fresno and Clovis, roughly half or more of the occupied apartment units are in buildings from before 1980. Building age is one of the biggest factors in what a repipe involves. The price comes from an on-site inspection and a written per-unit bid.

Permits in the Central Valley

We pull the permits and coordinate the inspections with the local building department, for example:

  • Stockton: Permit Center, Building & Life Safety Division.
  • Lodi: Building Division. Tracy and Manteca: Building Safety Divisions.
  • Modesto: Building Safety Division. Turlock: Building & Safety Division.
  • Fresno: Planning & Development Department, Building and Safety Services Division. Clovis: Building Division.

At the end of the job you receive the inspection documentation for the work.

How a repipe runs in an occupied building

  • Site walk by a project manager, then a written, fixed-price bid with a per-unit breakdown.
  • Resident notice templates, including a door-hanger with each unit’s date and water-off window 7 days ahead.
  • Unit-by-unit installation at 3 to 6 units per day in a standard residential building, with each unit off water for 2 to 4 hours on its day.
  • Drywall access openings patched and painted; PEX-A (Uponor) or Type L copper; published warranty of 25 years on PEX and 30 years on copper, parts and labor.
