How We Repipe Multistory on Raised Homes
When a two-story home sits over a crawlspace, we feed the first floor from below and carry the upstairs lines through the first-floor ceiling and up the interior walls. It combines the clean crawlspace access of a raised home with overhead routing for the second story.
First floor from the crawlspace
New mains run through the crawlspace and come up to each downstairs fixture — minimal wall cuts on the lower level.
Risers up interior walls
Vertical risers carry water up to the second floor inside interior walls.
Upstairs through the first-floor ceiling
Lines feeding interior upstairs fixtures run through the first-floor ceiling cavity, then up into the second-floor walls.
Top-floor drops where available
Where there’s attic access, some upstairs lines drop down from above instead — whichever is cleanest.
Insulate, strap & tie in
New lines are insulated, strapped, and connected to the main and water heater.
Patch & texture
The openings — mostly in the first-floor ceiling and a few walls — are patched and texture-matched.
Most of the first floor is reached from the crawlspace, and the first-floor ceiling carries the upstairs runs — which keeps wall damage low even on a two-story home.
